Favorite Snacks

Snacking is really hard to not do, especially when you’re trying to eat right and loose weight and you are having a difficult time fighting temptation. I’ve been working hard to cut back on the amount of snacking I do between meals, but sometimes, you just can’t help yourself.

Meringue Cookies

Oh my goodness, I love Meringue cookies! Obviously I get mine from Trader Joe’s but there are other brands as well.  Cookies you might ask, and the answer is yes! If you don’t believe me, just look at the back of the package. 110 calories for 4 cookies! If you don’t need a lot of sweet, that’s just 28 calories a cookie. These little treats taste like cereal marshmallows, but without the high fructose corn syrup and other stuff that isn’t pleasant. With these babies, I can afford to splurge a little and not feel like I’ve ruined my diet for the day. 😀

My next tasty treat is something more healthy but a kick back to a kid’s snack. This little gem is half a serving of fruit in every strip, and about $.50 each at the store. I get them in bulk boxes for $6.00 for 48 strips. At approx. 45 calories a strip, I don’t mind snacking on one of these instead of reaching for something I probably shouldn’t.
